Big Green Hope
Independent film darling (and more recently, the female lead in The Dark Knight) Maggie Gyllenhaal has distinguished herself from other actresses in her age cohort by displaying an acumen for quirky style.
She’s also becoming more educated about eco-fashion and, we dare say, the poster child for the movement.
We love her balanced approach to ethical dressing. As she said during her stint as host of the SoyJoy show at L.A. Fashion Week last October: “You do what you can. I mean, my tights are normal tights and my shoes are made of leather and some kind of metal. It’s like, you do what you can. If you can choose to buy an organic cotton tee-shirt as opposed to a regular cotton tee-shirt, do it if you have that luxury.”
She mirrors what ethical style is all about. In honor of our unofficial celebrity mascot, take a gander at Maggie’s eco-fashion hits in the slideshow below.
