Let’s Get Personal
Blogs may be the single greatest contribution to the democratization of fashion since — well, ever. Fashion bloggers (and bloggresses) cover everything from runway trends to vintage staples and their own personal styles.

It’s easy to write off personal style blogs as egotistical self-obsession, but we know better. Personal-style blogs are all about creativity and turning closet finds into unique outfits! Sure beats shopping. (Yes, I said that.)
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite personal style blogs in celebration of fashion democracy, with liberty and ethical style for all. Check them out.
- Susie Bubbles has an international following at the London-based Style Bubble. What started with her own outfit experimentations has grown to include runway style, trends, and of course shopping. Style Bubble is never at a loss for original fashion ideas or unique spins on old retreads.
- Personal-style gurus and photography lovers will find a treat in The Clothes Horse and Sea of Shoes. We love The Clothes Horse’s new blog category called “remix,” which is all about re-using and creating new from old, and using one item a bunch of different ways. And this Sea of Shoes photo shoot looks like it belongs in an Anthropologie catalog. Love it.
- Other dossiers of personal style we can’t get enough of: The Asian Cajuns (twins in Atlanta sharing their fashion creations) and Karla’s Closet –always rocking some fantastic vintage find. We love these shorts!
- Want to share your own fashion creations? Talk trends? Chictopia is the destination for fashion discussion and sharing your own personal style photos.
- Need a little frugality in your daily dose of fashion blogging? Be sure to check out Frugal Fashionista’s celebrity looks for less, or a “mom’s style” creation at BudgetChic.
- We would be remiss if we sent you to our favorite personal style blogs and ignored the fabulous world of street style. Check out Jak & Jil’s collection of fantastical street style photos. France-based Garance Doré takes the best and the brightest from Paris’s avenues and broadcasts high style across the world. And don’t miss The Sartorialist, a former sales and marketing specialist for the likes of Valentino, Helmut Lang, and Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Style isn’t limited to the runway, folks. Look around—you never know what you might see.
