Nana State
M.J. Prest | September 2008
Tucked into the second floor of a sunny townhouse on Washington’s historic U Street, the boutique known as Nana is a treasure trove of vintage finds and ethical brands.
Owner Jackie Flanagan places a large focus on buying collections from small designers. Among the eco-conscious designers found at Nana are the inventive Preloved, jewelry and lingerie maker Devil May Wear, and perfumer Elizabeth W. A smattering of vintage dresses and coats can be found next to the fitting rooms. And browsing the racks also reveals bamboo tanks from LA Made and organic cotton tote bags by Passenger Pigeon.
Nana, 1528 U Street NW, Washington, D.C. (202) 667-6955.
