After a lot of fretting when IMG pulled out of sponsoring L.A. Fashion Week, the event’s organizers decided to scale back the shows and take a few chances.

The format involves setting up shows all over the city instead of under one tent. And that move has opened the doors to a few up-and-coming eco-designers and activists.

Officially Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow, but tonight eco-model Summer Rayne Oakes will be signing copies of her book Style, Naturally at the Stella McCartney store on Beverly Boulevard.

Society for Rational Dress and its designs featuring surplus fabrics will be one of the emerging designers featured at the big Gen Art show tomorrow night, which you’ll find downtown at the Los Angeles Theater.

Then on Wednesday check out the What Comes Around Goes Around launch party in Hollywood, a second location of the famed vintage hotspot in SoHo known for its spiffy vintage clothing for men and women.
