		<description>It&#039;s fun to laugh at the excesses of our forefathers - that&#039;s what lileks.com is all about, after all - but some of these styles would still work today.  Word on the mink tennis dress w/ stripy silk tights.  Also, the sequined dresses at the end of the spread would still work. But I&#039;d wear them with dark semiprecious stones: jade, malachite, mahogany obsidian. And gray suede shoes.</description>

		<description>Oh how I aspire to dress and hairdo like these pics! Especially the last photo of the beehive / four foot long ponytail hybrid, sort of Liz Taylor a la Cleopatra era style. The fabrics and cuts of all these clothes are to die for, but for my husband there&#039;ll have to be more cleavage showing.
