Meet The Hellers
It didn’t make its way into the new issue, but one approach to waste reduction for designers is to use “dead stock,” or unworn, unsold vintage merchandise. Aside from being eco-friendlier than buying new fabric, garments made from dead stock have a leg up on the mass-made type in being ultra tough to copy.
Leading the way in this department is The Hellers, an L.A./Tel Aviv label recently featured on Lifelounge.
Co-designers Dania and Yoram collect material from all over the world to make jackets and dresses you will certainly not be seeing on anyone else at the party. Like this “ode to Kelly Bundy” dress made from screaming black and magenta silk and ’80s print rayon — a little sparse for November but hey!
